Gordon Guillaumier

Gordon Guillaumier was born in 1966 and spent his school years in Malta, Switzerland, England and Italy. He graduated in Design at the IED in Milan (1988-91) and attended a postgraduate course in Design at the Domus Academy in Milan (1992). In 1993, he completed an apprenticeship with Baleari Associati and, in the same year, he collaborated with architect Rodolfo Dordoni. During that time, Gordon also designed and presented his first products for Foscarini and Mito.

In 2002, he opened his own design studio in Milan, initially working on product design but also on design consulting projects. As a design consultant and art director, Gordon has collaborated with: Driade for the Atlantis and Dhouse Collections, Dornbarcht Interiors for bathroom accessories, Fiam for the Liv'it furniture collection, Roda for outdoor furniture and Parmar for handles. As a product designer, Gordon has worked for a large number of internationally renowned companies: ceramics and tableware for Bosa, Pandora, Paola C and De Vecchi, furniture for Arketipo, Casa Milano, Desalto, De Sede, Fontana Arte, Frag, Matteo Grassi, Montina, Minotti, Moroso, Roda, Tacchini, and Varaschin, lighting for Foscarini, AV Mazzega, appliances for Elica, handles for Pamar, bathroom taps for Nobili, bathroom ceramic ware for Azzurra. He has participated in various exhibitions and installations: “Pro-gettare” Abitare II Tempo, Verona (1999), Pandora Design, Milan (2001), Molteni Villa Torlonia (2002), Pamar, Palazzo Crivelli (2006/2010), Roda, Salone del Mobile Milan (2006/2010).

In 2006, he gave lectures on his work at the Faculty of Industrial Design of the Politecnico di Milano.
