The design plus is considered one of the most important awards concerning design, research and environment respect.

 

Messe Frankfurt and the “German Design Council” have been calling       from many years this prestigious competition which gives a prize to products that embodies in the best way this philosophy.

153 companies from 14 countries, in all 316 products, have participate in the selections for ISH 2009.

Azzurra sanitari has won this award with the project “Nuvola” by Angeletti Ruzza design.

 

Nuvola is a collection of vitreous china sanitary wares with soft and simple shapes. It has been designed drawing inspiration from the round and full shapes of human body and it embodies the idea of an harmonious existence with the surrounding world. The simplicity of Nuvola is a real value. A seeming simplicity which contains an authentic thought that does not follow transitory stiles. Harmony and functionality are immediately perceived in this product which is part of our every day life and which can reassure us. This thanks to the attention paid to environmental subjects.

 

Azzurra is sensitive to these themes and, considering that 20% of water consumptions ends into the drain of the bathroom, it has provided to the discharge of wall-hung w.c., w.c. and monoblock w.c. of Nuvola series with 4,5 litres of water instead of 6 litres. This quantity is strictly necessary to minimize the water consumption which is a real environmental emergency.

 

This is the second award this company wins in a very brief time: infact, only some months ago the authoritative jury of International Forum Design in Hannover has awarded the prize IF to the project Tandem by Paolo Ulian.

These are two very important proves that attest the effectiveness of the new direction embarked consisting in improving the quality of materials, the formal research and technological innovation.
